A Night Of Lols

It was my Fiance’s 25th birthday over the past weekend! It was a pretty chilled one because that’s the sort of guy he is doesn’t like being made a fuss of…We spent the day watching Tin Star and eating Uncle Sam’s takeaway (veggie burger and mozzarella sticks yassss). Of course we wanted to do something special on the day though so as one of his gifts I booked us a comedy gig at the komedia in Brighton.

Komedia is a live entertainment venue in the quirky famous north lanes! The comedy show we saw is called ‘The Krater Comedy Club’ I booked it for the Saturday night, the show runs Friday through Sunday but Saturday worked best for us because of Joe only having weekends off!

The show started at 7pm and with the amount of hen parties queuing up it looked as though it was going to be a packed out show. There were three acts to perform but it was more like 4 with the MC who Joe found hilarious! He wasn’t afraid to tell everyone to shut the hell up… and made it very clear that you weren’t allowed to talk or heckle once the acts were on stage.

The first two acts: Very funny but quite similar in the fact it was based around rude topics, hangovers, relationships all that fun stuff!

Throughout the night the comedians spoke to the front row as we were warned would happen and that’s exactly why we decided not to sit there. There was one couple in the front row that we seemed to find out everything about including that they were on a first date and may have had one too many glasses of Prosecco.

The headline act was by far the best, he was a younger guy and the jokes were more relatable but unfortunately was short lived as that couple in the front row I spoke about thought they’d start joining in with the act, it ended up with the comedian slagging the girl off and the guy walking out of the venue so as you would imagine after all the drama the headliner was so put off and running out of time that he ended it the best he could and fled off stage. It was all pretty awkward tbh.

Even though the gig ended a bit crappy it didn’t put a downer on our night, we were too excited for our domino’s pizza and cuddling up on the sofa to finish the Tin Star series.

Happy Birthday Joe! Love you xxx

P.s the next day I decided I may as well write to komedia, letting them know that if they are going to make such a big point about no disruptions during the acts that they shouldn’t of let that couple ruin the final act for everyone. Cutting the story short they had a lot of complaints and we were given a free ticket.

So it looks like I will be going back which let’s just say I probably wouldn’t have done if I had to pay for it LOL fingers crossed there’s not another first date scenario!!
