26/10/2017 – Our Anniversary xxx
Who loves a love story? I do!
Don’t worry I’m not going to bore you and go into detail of our last 4 years together but this year has been… the only way I can describe it is life changing I think that’s why this anniversary in particular means so much to me.
I just wanted to tell you a bit about our story, what was so life changing about 2016/2017 and a little insight of what we did to celebrate our anniversary.
I met Joe when I was 17 at a Halloween party back in 2013, fast forward 3 crazy years of holidays, ups and downs, days out, new experiences for the pair of us, cosy nights and just a whole lot of love brings us to 2016 and that’s when it got a little bit rocky….
3 years is a long time together the longest time we spent apart in those 3 years was probably 2 nights at most and that’s how we liked it we loved each others company. We were still living with our parents and I thought it was time to start looking for a place of our own but Joe didn’t seem like he was very up for it which I was so confused about because we had always talked about it before so I knew something had to be up and that’s when he told me…. Joe had decided he wanted to join the army. I still get upset thinking about the day he told me because I didn’t know what it meant for us. I didn’t understand why he would want to spend that much time away from me. I didn’t know what I was going to do… I spent every day with Joe in mind he was the main thing in my life. Things were about to change dramatically!
He Joined in November 2016 so it’s a year later and I now know why he wanted to do it and understand that it wasn’t just for him but for us and our future. I’m not going to say too much about what happened when it comes to the day he left to go to basic training, what I felt like and what my life was like after because I want to write all about it in a different post but what I will say is change is hard but I made it, we made it as a couple and we are actually stronger than ever and although only seeing him on weekends is still difficult we are in a really good place!
Once things settled down around April and we got use to the routine one of those weekends was the best EVER because I got engaged, yup he asked and I said yes! 18/4/2017 💖 if we could get through what happened this year, I knew we could get through anything together.
Can you see why I said this has been a roller coaster of a year! Among all the other eventful things happening behind the scenes of my life – added together was a lot to take in. Lets just take a back seat and chill for a while okay life? 😂
Everything has been perfect since then our engagement party was lovely, our summer holiday was pure bliss and there’s still so much to look forward too! Here’s to our 5th year together its going to be magical 👰 🏡 💑 🛫 🎉 xxx
Can you believe he has put up with me for 4 years!! 4 FRICKING YEARS!! But I’m definitely worth it 😉
We spent our anniversary weekend enjoying each other’s company with a day out in our home town, we went for noodles on Brighton pier and for desert a waffle covered in strawberries, bananas, cream and chocolate to share. We then went on to spend the night cuddled up watching episode after episode of our best-loved series which definitely seems to be our favourite past time.
We gave each other simple but meaningful gifts including flowers, cards (I cried my little heart out when I read Joe’s card he is certainly a romantic when he wants to be), a photo book and a cute poem I wrote. I will insert some photos below ↓↓↓↓↓

Hope you enjoyed getting to know more about me and my relationship I hope this post wasn’t too long and you stuck it out till the end. Let me know what gifts you’ve gotten your other half on Anniversary’s, ideas for next year always appreciated!
