Hey everyone!
The month of January isn’t one of the best months is it so I’ve decided to let you in on some of the things getting me through the January blues!
Read on to find out my faves! 🌸🌸🌸
EcoTools ‘prep for change’ makeup brush set – I paid £7.49 for this brush set in Superdrug!!!! Incredibly cheap. EcoTools is a great brand and this limited edition set supports Glamour’s The Girl Project Foundation that provides girls with access to quality secondary education! I pretty much use every brush in this collection in my everyday makeup routine now and the little facial scrubber is a great tool too. The quality of the brushes are second to none, they perform well, soft bristles and look good with the metallic green and wood effect. My favourite would have to be the kabuki setting brush for using with loose powder. (Quick fact – the flat head foundation brush is what I use to apply one of my other favourites this month the L’Oreal Elixir overnight tan)
Avene Cleanance Range Including: Avene Cleanance cleansing gel – Avene Cleanance MAT mattifying emulsion – Avene Cleanance MAT mattifying toner.
I have been using this range since December. I looked up a good skincare routine for greasy skin which is what my skin type is but after a couple weeks of religiously using all of the products my skin was no longer near as greasy as it used to be. I was so happy I didn’t have to keep reapplying powder to stop my makeup melting off throughout the day. I simply use the face wash, toner and moisturiser every morning and just the face wash at night along with a separate night cream. I would really recommend to anyone suffering with greasy skin even though it’s not on the cheap side its 100% worth it for the quality, amount of product you get and just the overall effectiveness of the products!
Zoella Splash of milk bath powder – I’d never tried anything from the Zoella range (I now want to try everything!) but picked these up in the Superdrug sale and have been putting them in my bath ever since. They make the water silky smooth and the whole room smells amazing.
False Nails – I decided to get my acrylic nails back on this month, I always have a break from them to let my natural nails breathe. They make me feel so put together and girly, My favourite part is picking a colour – I always go in there not knowing what I want and just go with what I’m feeling on the day. Also spending an hour getting pampered is always nice!
L’Oreal overnight tan elixir – As it’s been winter for what seems like forever now I am officially pale af. My tan from the summer lasted me well but it has truly disappeared now. I don’t like using tanning beds because of obvious health risk reasons and when it comes to fake tan who can be bothered to do that when you’re head to toe wrapped up in the warmest clothes you can find. If you think about it the only part of you that’s visible during the winter months is your face and I’ve found the overnight elixir to be the best tanning product for it. Pop a few pumps of the elixir straight onto your face or I like to use a foundation brush to apply it so I don’t stain my fingers, rub it in, leave it overnight and wake up a golden goddess. It gives you such a healthy glow, I love it! (You can also use the product on your body)
Revolution conceal and define: shade C4 – I would be incredibly shocked if you haven’t heard about this concealer, I wouldn’t bother putting this in because so many people have spoken about it but I have been LOVING it for the last couple weeks so I had to. Normally when a product goes viral for being amazing it’s made by a high end expensive brand and I can’t afford to spend £109 on a foundation, but this little beauty is £4 from Revolution so I had to give it a go! It does live up to hype… its full coverage, easy to blend out, non cakey. It’s got an amazingly soft applicator and it seems like to me you get a lot of product as a little goes a long way. On days where I’m working or just pottering about I just use the concealer and some powder on top. I would love to see Revolution come out with a foundation and if it’s anything like their concealer I’d certainly buy it.
Off the shoulder tops – For some reason I thought I couldn’t wear off the shoulder tops, for years I never bought or owned one. TMI but I thought you couldn’t get away with them if you had bigger boobs – I was wrong. Now I’m obsessed and own about 10. End of story!
Tiger glass bottle tea strainer – This is the best £5 I have ever spent. No joke. I am drinking green tea like there is no tomorrow now and we all know how good green tea is for you! I bought this in a shop we have in Brighton called TIGER it’s a glass bottle that comes with a little tea strainer that you fill with loose tea in the top. I love it!
TV programmes: SAS WHO DARES WINS – Definitely worth a watch! Me and my fiance love to watch this together. He likes to watch it because he’s in the military and likes to believe he could be in the SAS lmao. I like to watch it because of all the fit instructors 😂no it really is a good programme, a group of men go through the mentally and physically hard gruelling SAS training. Give it a watch! FIRST DATES HOTEL – omg who doesn’t love this programme. If you have no idea what I’m talking about GET TO KNOW! It’s exactly what it sounds like 2 people on blind first dates are put together based on things they would like in a partner. It’s on channel 4 every Monday at 10pm. First dates restaurant is just as good – go to 4 on demand and just binge watch every episode, you will thank me later!
The Greatest Showman soundtrack– Obsessed. Obsessed. Obsessed. I went to see the film having not even watched the trailer. Two words ZAC EFRON – his face on that big screen who really cares what the films about, who’s with me? I had no idea it was even a musical but was I happy when I realised it was. It’s one of those films that you leave feeling like you could take on the world after. Amazing! Loved it, and what’s even better, you can pretend you’re dancing and singing in the movie at home with the soundtrack. I’ve listened to it a scary amount of times (still not sick of it, though my cats might be – they run away every time it starts playing 😂😂😂 p.s not a crazy cat lady) and my two favourite tracks are: The Other Side and A Million Dreams.
Pomegranate seeds – I eat so much veg I love the stuff but when it comes to fruit I really struggle to get enough into my diet. I like smoothies but I’m just too lazy to make them all the time (should probably change that). I was looking up which fruits have the most beneficial factors and the highest vitamin c levels and came across pomegranate seeds – You can buy them in a little on the go packet which is really handy and I’ve been eating about 3 packets a week for a while now!
Bottle Green Pomegranate and Elderflower cordial – Mix this with soda water and ice. Oh what a dream. I am not a big drinker so this was so perfect for me at Christmas Time. It’s a bubbly, sweet festive drink that everyone can enjoy! Add a wedge of lime and some mint to jazz it up even more.
