Mid-week Break

Last week me and my partner Joe decided to have a couple nights away in a little town not far from Brighton just to spend some time together alone. I thought I’d make this blog post like a little follow me round and also a little review of the things we did, places we visited and the hotel we stayed in.

We stayed in a town called Eastbourne – about a 45 min journey from Brighton. It’s certainly not a place you’d go to if you want to be busy and do a lot of interesting things. It is a quiet seaside town with a lot of restaurants a pier and a lovely seafront.

Wednesday ✨

The first day we just decided to have a mooch round the town – I actually really like Eastbourne for shopping mainly because it’s a lot less busy than Brighton and the Primark is great. The shopping centre (Arndale centre) does have quite a few shops along with the main high street there’s everything you could need.  I didn’t buy much except the new revolution foundation as they had the shade I wanted in Superdrug and I LOVE it. It’s so easy to apply and blend, the colour is perfect and its very high coverage. The only issue I have is it’s a very creamy formula which makes my face greasy throughout the day so do need to re-apply powder. Luckily I picked up one of their new loose powders too. For a ridiculously affordable makeup brand their products are such high quality.

I also dragged Joe to get my nails done with me (he loves it really 😂) at The Nail Fairy the service and helpfulness was great I was even offered cups of teas. Prices were average and the nails look really nice except I find now with every nail salon I try they never make sure all the nails are the same length which is really irritating. Makeup and nails ahh I’m such a girl!

Thursday 💫

Let me tell you about the breakfast we had Thursday. Well I say breakfast we stayed in bed till 1pm oops.  We searched best breakfast places in Eastbourne and this little gem popped up as one of the best rated and when we saw a few photos of the food it was a no brainer. It 100% lived up to those ratings it was honestly one of the nicest breakfast dishes I’ve tried. We both went for the fluffy pancakes with crispy bacon and banana. Best bacon I have ever had hands down, Ate the lot! (Yeah not a vegetarian anymore if you guessed, I 100% prefer eating vegetarian food but am not going to limit myself if I fancy something) If you are in Eastbourne go to Amy’s Cafe you will not regret it! ↓

We just chilled for the rest of the day it was nice just spending time together in a different setting. In the evening when walking back to the hotel we sat on one of the benches on the seafront and saw this amazing sky as the sun was setting – has to be my favourite time of the day late evening – everything is so calm and quiet.

For the most part we just ate nice food in cute restaurants, went for walks along the seafront and around the marina, slept for hours in a comfy hotel bed and chatted away the day! Nothing too exciting but just what was needed ❤️

The hotel we stayed at was called – The citrus hotel – It was a nice little cosy hotel. If you are looking for something cheap and cheerful I would definitely recommend it. We were even able to see the sea from our room …
