Today I thought I’d share a little secret on how I dye my eyebrows at home and talk you through step by step how to do it yourself.

I simply buy an eyebrow and eyelash tint on Ebay – Just note I have never used this product on my eyelashes only on my eyebrows. I wouldn’t personally dye my own eyelashes I feel like that’s something you should leave to the professionals as it’s a very precise process.
For less than £10 the products in the image above lasts me months and months. You only need to buy the tint and developer, you can buy the full kit which comes with application utensils – but I am going to show you how you can save a couple quid and use the tools you already have at home!
I go for the grey tint which sounds very scary but I promise you I don’t end up with grey eyebrows (see pics below) it just gives a more ashy blonde/brown shade which I prefer.
Here’s what you need to do ↓💙
Step 1: Prep
If this is the first time using this product you will need to do a 24 – 48 hour patch test: Please read up about doing a patch test as I am no expert! I do not have any trouble with this dye but that might not be the case for you if you have sensitive skin.
Always leave the plucking till after you’ve dyed your eyebrows or 24 hours before. I wait till after so you can see the little fair hairs better.
Put Vaseline around your eyebrow with a cotton bud to stop any accidental dye staining the skin (don’t worry if you accidentally do get some dye on your skin it will come off with a few washes with soapy water)
Step 2: Mixing the dye
You will need a small mixing dish – I use a shot glass which works great!

Add 2cm tint and 10 drops of the volume peroxide developer into the dish and mix with a cotton bud. With the grey tint I find it looks purple when applying so FYI that’s normal and I’m not trying to make you all walk around with purple eyebrows.
Step 3: Applying
You will need a brush to apply the tint to your eyebrows – I tried using a cotton bud and it just didn’t work for me it was too messy and I kept getting dye on my skin.
What I find works best is either a lip brush or a slanted angled eyebrow brush. You can see what the one I looks like in the picture at the beginning of this blog post.
Put a small amount of the dye onto your brush and just like your applying an eyebrow product to fill in your brows start shading them in with the dye. Keep doing so until all the hairs are covered in a thick layer of dye.
Leave on for 5 – 15 mins, you will find what development time works best for you. I normally leave on for 15 mins. P.S make sure you don’t need to speak to anyone or answer the door as you currently look like 2 big slugs have set up home on your face.
Whilst the dye is drying wash the mixing dish and brush out ready for next time otherwise the brush will stain and be harder to use.
Step 4: The end result
Wet 2 cotton pads with warm water and wipe the dye off each eyebrow. Et Voila!
Before picture of my eyebrows: Unshaped with no dye or product.

After picture of eyebrows: As you can see they are a lot darker, can see every hair and a nice ashy dark blonde tone.

After being shaped and plucked: 👌 All done. No eyebrow products on just the dye. Ready to go!

Hello beautiful carved full brows. It’s as simple as that! I have to do my brows every 3 weeks! A lot less hassle and money than going to the salon.
