Follow me: An Autumn Weekend

Hey,

I thought I would do a little follow me type blog post for last weekend because it was a really fun one with quite a few things going on, in my little world anyways.

What’s more autumnal than pumpkins?🎃

On Saturday we visited Foxes Farm Produce Pumpkin patch, I’d never been to one before and really wanted to, with this one being only a short drive away from our house we decided to go pick some pumpkins! I will leave their page linked at the bottom of this post if you live in the Essex area it’s a great morning/afternoon out spent with lots to do including a corn maze and wellie throwing 🌽

Luckily it was a gloriously sunny autumns day so we really enjoyed just walking round looking at all the different types of pumpkins I had no idea you could get so many. As you can see from the picture there were some pretty strange ones which would be perfect if you’re looking for a creepy Halloween pumpkin. We picked up two orange pumpkins and two white ones, one medium sized so that we can carve it and three miniature ones for decoration. It was a lot of fun and something I’d definitely like to start doing every year as a tradition!

Joe’s birthday was on the Monday, he was happy to just have a very chilled one this year I think that’s mainly because he doesn’t want to be a year older bless him. We decided to go for dinner out Saturday evening to Chiquito Mexican grill which we had never tried before and it was really nice experience and the food was tasty. What’s better is I found a Groupon deal so our two main meals and two desserts cost us less than £25 half price of what it would have cost. I highly recommend the classic chicken fajitas, delicious!

Sunday was set to pour down with rain all day which means one thing lazy duvet day! (Made Joe watch the notebook for the first time) ❤️

We did quickly brave the rain to pop to Argos and the Range – we picked up a steamer for the kitchen (A MUST), a new shower curtain and randomly some Halloween sweets for the trick or treaters. Adulting is just riveting isn’t it? 😂

Joe’s Birthday – Monday rolled around pretty quick!  Unfortunately Joe had to work but that gave me time to get my baking on. I’d planned to make a banoffee pie but Joe asked for these chocolate cheesecake brownies, so I decided to make both. Least that way if one went wrong I’d have a backup! 🍰

Do not do what I did and replace the sour cream with milk as this does not work and that’s why mine looks more like an overdone chocolate fudge cake instead of cheesecake swirl fudge brownies, Still yummy tho. Recipes are linked below!

Who loves my candles? I’m so mean 😂 We sang happy birthday and enjoyed some husband and wife time on the sofa in front of the TV! Perfect.

We have been eating the cakes all week long and even handing out bits to neighbours so you’ve been warned these recipes make a lot.

What’s your autumn tradition? Let me know in the comments.
