February Highlights

I thought I would do a roundup type post of my highlights from whilst my husband’s been away! It’s a tough time when the person you do life with is away for long periods of time so for me having things to look forward to is key. I’m very grateful for the people I have round me thank you for making these last 2 months bearable (you know who you are) 😘

There are a couple things in Jan/March that were worth mentioning but most of the fun happened in February.

I have actually been jobless since January which meant I could spend my time between Brighton (old home) and Colchester (new home) whilst my husband was away. This was actually a blessing in disguise because I am quite the scaredy-cat when it comes to sleeping in a house alone so the less I have to do it the better lol.

JANUARY

24th – Meeting my friends then 2 month old baby. I have zero experience with babies; the youngest of my close family members is 22 years old lol. I just melted when I met the little one he is gorgeous and my friend is the best mum to her 2 boys!

30th – Dyed my hair! I have been bleaching my hair now for about 2 years and it was time for a change, I was sick of the up keep. I picked a dye which on the box looked the nearest colour to my roots (Garnier Nutrisse cream – 7 dark blonde). I love the colour and it matches my roots perfectly you can’t even see them growing out! πŸ’‡β€β™€οΈ

FEBRUARY

1st – Glow golf & cocktails! Myself and two of my closest friends had a lovely night drinking tasty and (not so tasty) cocktails and falling over in ball pits whilst playing mini golf 🍹

GLOBALLS BRIGHTON

4th – My Birthday! I decided to have a very relaxed birthday this year, I spent the day with my mum exploring Chichester – I’d never been and I’m so glad I finally got round to seeing it as it’s a lovely historical town. Lunch, chai teas, and winter walks = Happy me! β˜•οΈ

Chichester Cathedral

5th – Upside down house, Brighton pier and sunset starlings! I’ve wanted to visit this upside down house on the seafront in Brighton ever since it popped up out of nowhere lol. It’s basically 5 mins of fun to take some cool photos and experience something a little different. We also decided as it was a beautiful evening to have a walk along the pier and wait to watch the starling’s murmuration at sunset. Stunning!

Upside Down House Brighton

20th – Mylee Gel polish Led Lamp! After getting gel nails just before my birthday I was obsessed with how good they looked but didn’t want to spend around Β£30 every few weeks on them. I looked into it and decided to buy everything I needed to do Gel nails at home. I’ve done it twice now and I’m pretty happy with the results but practice makes perfect, I want to book a gel polish course to improve my skills and learn how to do some nail art/extensions etc πŸ’…πŸΌ

25th – Brighton Centre the Script concert. Very last minute my friend had a free ticket and invited me. I don’t know a lot of The Script songs but they put on such a good show I’d definitely see them again live. Becky hill was the warm up act too and I love most of her songs. Fab unexpected night out. Thanks Lauren! πŸŽ™οΈ

26th – Lent starts. NO FIZZY DRINKS for 40 days! (I thought I’d mention this because it gave me something to focus on) I decided to give up something for lent again this year because last year I gave up chocolate and it really helped me stop craving it. This year is harder for me though as fizzy drinks are my weakness – it’s been just over 2 weeks and so far so good. I’m looking forward to seeing if I still enjoy drinking fizzy drinks as much after 6 weeks!

28th – Job offer at H.Samuel. I went for the interview on the Friday and less than 24 hours later I got offered the job! I actually jumped around happy dancing when the phone call ended. I really wanted this job, I love jewellery it’s always been a passion of mine I was over the moon to get that call! I start next week… Wish me luck!

MARCH

11th – Ashoka Indian Restaurant Hove. I had such a lovely evening spent with my best friend enjoying a delicious Indian meal. We had a good laugh over the fact we ordered 8 onion bhaji’s to share plus a main, side and a plate of poppadoms each! (The waiter thought we were mad). Our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies but everything was really good. I’ll definitely be going back!

Our Fest!

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what I’ve been up too! What’s been one of your highlights over the past couple months? Let me know in the comments! I need new blogs to follow πŸ’“
