Beauty Subscription Box Review

I am aware we are not in June its not a typo and I haven’t gone completely mad (yet) read on to find out more!

During lockdown I signed up to a beauty subscription service called GLOSSYBOX you pay a certain amount each month and receive a box of beauty goodies worth a lot more than what you pay. You never know what you are going to receive so it’s like a surprise gift from you to you. I decided to give it a go during because I wasn’t spending any money on beauty products so could justify it and I also thought it would be a good pick me up each month during these tough times.

I am going to be talking to you about the JUNE edit (sorry it’s a bit late) because I have actually cancelled my subscription now and this was the last box I received. I still wanted to do a review because I think a lot of people want to try beauty subscription boxes but like me are apprehensive to if they are worth it or not. I didn’t decided to cancel my subscription because GlossyBox isn’t a good company or I didn’t like the boxes its simply because I am now saving to move house and cutting back on spending money on anything that isn’t necessary.

Here you can see the previous boxes I got and the contents within, I think June was the best month for me personally but all the boxes had some really lovely things inside and I’ve used and liked all the products bar one. Check out the GlossyBox website for more information!

I paid £8 for my first box as I had a discount code and then £10 each for the next two plus £3 or so for standard delivery. I think if you can afford this little luxury every month it is definitely worth it. You get to try a whole range of products you might not normally buy or even know about and it arrives in a lovely luxurious gift box. I really do think it’s a form of self-care treating ourselves to something special now and again and that’s exactly what this is.

Here’s a more in depth look at the products in JUNE’S WORLD OF BEAUTY EDITION BOX I haven’t tried any of the products yet as I was waiting to do this blog post like an unboxing so I will talk you through my first thoughts.

I paid £13 for this box including delivery and the contents inside are said to be worth £61!

LASPLASH COSMETICS – DUO BRUSH SET

No description available.

I am really happy with these brushes as I don’t think you can ever have too many eye brushes. I also never buy new brushes so it will be a treat to try out some new ones. They are good quality and a perfect duo for creating an effortless look!

HUDA BEAUTY – LIFE-LINER

No description available.

The most expensive item in the box and the product I’ll get the most use out of. I have never owned any Huda Beauty products but this eyeliner looks really good quality, you get two products in one small travel friendly tube. You twist one end for the liquid eyeliner and pull the other end to reveal a jet black creamy pencil. Very excited to try! Thank you GlossyBox.

MODELCO – LIQUID METAL EYESHADOW

No description available.

I own many liquid eyeshadows because I love how easy they are and I do have one in a similar gold shade to this so will probably give it to a family member or friend. I swatched it on my hand and it has good lasting power and looks beautiful when the light catches it, definitely an item to have in your makeup bag especially for nights out. For the price of £15 (as stated in the information leaflet) I wouldn’t purchase it myself though I think that is a bit steep as you can get very similar products on the high street.

THE VINTAGE COSMETIC COMPANY – MAKEUP REMOVING CLOTHS

No description available.

I am obsessed with things like this, I love reusable beauty items. These cloths have an exfoliating side and a cleansing side to remove makeup with no lotions or face wash required. They sound amazing I can’t wait to try them. Nobody should be using face wipes or cotton pads anymore, eco-friendly reusable products are the way forward. Go pick some up, only £7.99 for two!

BEAUTANIQ BEAUTY – GUARDIAN ANGEL EYE MASK

No description available.

The first thing I notice is the adorable packaging these eye masks come in. They are infused with green tea, hyaluronic acid, cucumber and rose extract. I might keep these for when I’m next on a plane as I think they would work wonders on tired jet lagged eyes. Although I am tempted to use them now after staring at the computer writing this blog post for the past couple hours!

That is everything guys, thank you for reading! Have you tried a beauty subscription box before? Let me know in the comments!
