I moved to Australia

Where do I start? How about …. I MOVED TO AUSTRALIA! (during a global pandemic)

Let me talk you through a quick break down of my 2020

January-March was spent missing my other half ✨ and making TikToks if I’m honest.

March – My Husband came home and I got a new job which I thought I would love 💕

April – June LOCKDOWN #1 UK we all know how that went.

June – October – Although there were some good days and some memories made I mostly spent these months suffering with high anxiety and panic attacks about covid. Could no longer work and started having therapy! My husband, family and quiz nights with my friends kept me going (you know who you are) love you all!

October – The month that changed my life forever. No more Army life!!  We were always planning on going to Australia as soon as we could but didn’t know it would be possible during the pandemic, we thought we would have months and months to plan. The opportunity was handed to us so we decided to go for it, because honestly it felt like more of a lifeline to me at the time, We booked our plane tickets to Australia! Had 5 days to pack up 24 years worth of belongings (into 3 suitcases may I add) the most stressful and emotional 5 days ever! The amount we got done was mind blowing. Saddest part was not being able to say bye to anyone properly!

3 negative covid tests, One 16 hour flight, 2 weeks in quarantine and a further 5 hour flight later…

November – Arrived in QLD! Had an interview and got the job the same day as landing in Sunshine Coast very similar to the one I wasn’t able to do in the UK and love it. Don’t get me wrong it took me a few weeks to get my head around not wearing a mask, sanitising everything , and worrying about covid but it felt so good to get back to some normal! Spent days in the sun and sea doing things I could only of dreamed of a month ago! But also spent days trying to find a permanent place to live because apparently the Sunshine Coast is quite the place to be.

December – On the 1st we moved into our new unit that we have to call home for our first year in Queensland, did a very large Ikea shop and celebrated a wonderful Christmas on the beach ❤️ Loads of photos over on my instagram!

So there you go that’s the short story, any questions please feel free to ask! I hope you will join me on this crazy adventure and follow me as I document my new life down under. There’s a lot more to come!

In February I turn 25 (look out for a birthday blog post) I hope to study and gain qualifications, I hope to become physically and mentally strong, I hope to explore this absolutely amazing country and meet lifelong friends along the way. I also hope the world and people effected by this year can heal ❤️

I know not everyone has had they’re happy ever after moment in 2020 but trust me when I say it’s coming. You can have everything and anything you want in life! 11:11 💖

  2. Your story is incredible honestly! What I’ve always wanted to do is move to the US. I definitely have a while to go though. I hope you’re enjoying Australia so far. Visit Sydney when you get the chance! We do have the most incredible views. A huge congratulations to you and your partner x
