For the past 6 months I have been studying at Tafe and recently passed my cert III in Nail technology. I am now going on to study for a further year to gain my diploma in beauty therapy.
In my spare time I want to be building up a clientele and practicing nails as much as possible. I have set up a nail studio in my spare room and am slowly building up all the equipment and products I need.
I am yet to have my first paying customer, but I am very happy with my set-up now and feel ready to start advertising.
My business name idea is Bare Nail Company, A home-based salon located on the beautiful sunny coast.
My goals:
1 + years – 2-3 clients weekly whilst studying full time.
2 + years – Gained my diploma in beauty therapy, start offering beauty services such as eyebrow/lash, facials, waxing, makeup treatments. Work at a spa or beauty salon part time to gain experience within the industry.
3+ years – Rent a space within a salon to gain more clients if needed or continue at home and take on more clients.
4+ years – Open a small beauty studio with 1 extra member of staff.
5+ years – Running my own business with multiple members of staff and creating and selling my own line of beauty/nail merchandise.
You’ve got to be in it to win it. These may be big goals, but a lot can be done in 5 years! Having goals is so important and these are mine for my career. I’ve never known what I wanted to do but I think I’ve finally found something I’m passionate about.
Let’s see how I get on…
